Notes
Gemini’s free tier covers Flash models only. Pro models need billing enabled.
- Gemini 3 Flash free: 10 requests a minute, 1,500 a day, 250k tokens a minute
- Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite free: 15 requests a minute for lighter jobs
- Gemini 3 Pro: paid only, no free allowance
SCM defaults to Flash, so the free tier works out of the box. Switch to Pro only if you have billing enabled and want the extra quality.
1,500 requests a day is roughly 1,500 article sections, so most single-operator workloads never leave the free tier.
