How to find the `scm-next.db` scm database

This guide explains how to find the scm-next.db database file used by SEO Content Machine on a Windows machine. (ie: find scm db)

Step 1: Open the Folder Directly

  1. Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.

  2. Type the following and press Enter:

    %APPDATA%\scm-next-plus
    • This opens the folder directly where SEO Content Machine stores its database.

Step 2: Locate the Database File

  • Inside the scm-next-plus folder, look for the file:

    scm-next.db

  • This is the database used by SEO Content Machine to store your application data.

Step 3: (Optional) Copy or Backup

  • To backup the database, simply copy scm-next.db to another location.
  • Do not modify the file while SEO Content Machine is running to avoid corruption.

Troubleshooting

  • Folder not found? Make sure SEO Content Machine has been launched at least once; the folder is created on first run.
  • Hidden folders: The AppData folder may be hidden. Enable hidden files via File Explorer → View → Hidden items.
