Google Business Profile/Maps Additional Info - ie Local Services

Is it possible to get:

  1. Number of years in business

  2. Services (list of services)

  3. An average rank position (I know proximity plays a big role in this so it’s not possible to get exact rank but if there’s anyway to extract an average that would be awesome)

  4. The following information about recent updates:

  • total number of updates posted
  • date of first and most recent update

Reason for request: this would be extremely helpful for local SEO research since it would allow me to better analyze the strength of local competition.

When I do the maps search I get different UI

Its missing years in service, services tab updates and photos

Can you share with me the google place URL that has the services and updates tab so I can check it?

Yes, here you go! https://g.co/kgs/jQwFTwT

If you search “web designers” for any city, they’re usually really good about adding updates and services on their profiles since they know SEO. A lot of businesses don’t because they don’t know any better so that’s one of the primary things I look at when analyzing GBPs for local SEO. Great opportunity to either outrank them or sell them a service

Thanks for the sample.

I had trouble finding anything with those tabs.

Ill see what I can grab for you

I have been looking at the url you gave and I noticed its not the same as what you can find on Google maps

The gmaps link url is
maps.app.goo.gl/pDeEpj62XYWxSkHM6

The link you provided is
www.google.com/localservices/prolist?

How did you get the localservices listing? I can’t find it via a normal google maps search

I am in Australia, and I also couldn’t get the tabs when searching maps only, but using web search and clicking on the business listings on the serp page, or by clicking on “More Businesses” from the serp page…that takes you to a functional page where they all came up with all the tabs visible…

Seems like some of the parameters after the ? are required for the google.com/localservices/prolist? page to function.

That explains alot.

After poking around, it looks like a business has 2 listings on 2 different Google properties.

Google Maps

Google localservices

On my google maps result there is no direct link from the google maps place location to its localservices listing either.

Unless we can link them directly it is not possible to scrape the extra data as they appear on 2 different websites.

Even the google plus code, which is meant to identify places doesn’t work.

A name search works, but its not consistent

The only real option to move forward with this is to create a new option to search “Local Services” or “Google Maps”

I am not the original poster, but I can see this could be really beneficial to be able to do.

I am sure Google does this to make it harder to scrape information…

I think I worked out which parameter is required for the localservices link to work properly.

Try this link: https://www.google.com/localservices/prolist?src=2 and see if it works for you. It did for me. Produces the list of businesses and when clicked it gives tabs such as services and updates.

The tabs (like “services” or “updates”) show up only if the business has them.

I think I know what you mean, I think the original poster wanted maps search too, but they don’t seem to give the full info there - at least not for me.

Yes you are right.

https://www.google.com/localservices/prolist?src=2&q=plumber%20australia%20melbourne

If you put in q param you can automate the search

Now that we have the URL, I need to see how different the layout is from Google maps.

Most likely you will have a selector to search ‘Maps’ or ‘Local Services’ somewhere on the tool

This will be great. I am also looking for a feature like this.

Add your vote and I can see about getting to it after the CSV/Google Spreadsheet enhancements
